I am here to show you family friendly New Year's Eve celebrations that are safe and fun for the entire family. I want to show you that there are alternatives to watching TV and having some bubbles on the sofa. Allowing your family to mark the closing of the old year and bringing in the new year with a bang!

Sometimes I am known as 'The Christmas Markets Blogger', and if you pop over to my markets page you will love my top destinations and plans

It really is, The most beautiful time of the year!!

About me : I am a kid in a middle-aged mans body. We love Christmas and New Year in our household. As a ‘pre-dependents' adult I spent decades going to great parties to celebrate New Years, it has always been a different place, quite often a different country. It has been in clubs and discos, and capital city street parties. A year was never missed; it was a holiday I would always take

Then came parenthood!

Wow, what now? Suddenly I had a zero-year-old with me. On one hand, I haven’t suddenly stopped living my life or doing the things I enjoy, but on the other hand, I would be frowned upon taking a pushchair into a European disco. Should I give up my celebration or should I come up with a plan?

A plan it was

Capital city street parties and clubs were off, at least until said child hits double figures. What does that leave? I needed to find something that would work for all of us, all of us can mark the start of the New Year in a significant way, all of us could be safe, happy, and not vulnerable. And of course, with an easy and practical ‘escape plan’. An option that if our child was unhappy or in discomfort - with little to no effort, we can make our escape from any event and return to some form or tranquility and calm

Clubs were off

This blog will go through the different places we have celebrated New Years Eve with our child, the events and activities we have done, the age of our child and in my opinion the age ranges it would be suitable for, with some idea of cost. The nature of the blog means it is not updated weekly, rather yearly, but there should be plenty here to be getting on with

Cheers to the Near Year ahead
